VOLUNTEER

 

Crystal Pond Park exists due to the volunteer time of its commissioners and many others in the community who love the Park and wish to preserve and improve it.

 

Each Spring, the Commission hosts a Community Volunteer Day, during which students, church groups and local citizens descend on the Park to perform a Spring Cleanup and needed maintenance on the Park grounds and buildings.  Please consider attending this fun and rewarding event.

 

 

DONATIONS

 

The Park Commission receives only $900 per year in tax dollars from each of the Town of Woodstock and the Town of Eastford.  This basically covers only administrative services.  All other funding for both maintenance and capital improvements comes from individual donations and the generosity of the local community.  If you wish to donate to the Park, you may place your donation in the donation box on the main sign board in front of the Dining Hall, give it to any Commission member, or contact the following officers.  Thank your for your support of our Park!

DISC GOLF SPONSORSHIP

 

No tax payer funds were used in the construction of our new Disc Golf Course during the spring and summer of 2017.  The Commission decided to invest seed money from funds on hand, seek additional specific donations for the course, and rely on the generosity of local disc golf players to install and maintain the course.  The Commission requests that all disc golf players donate $5/person per day as a course usage fee.  However, this minimal fee is insufficient to cover the installation and on-going maintenance of the course.

 

The Commission therefore decided to acknowledge major donors to the disc golf course by displaying their name and message on one of the 18 tee signs located on the course.  The sponsorship message can contain text and/or graphics of your choice.  Sponsors may be individuals, families, groups, businesses, etc.
